Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
At Kiip, we believe in reducing barriers for everyone to access public services and benefits. Our goal is to empower people of all abilities, and life stages to confidently store and access their important documents and services with ease. That's why we provide simple and free tools that require no special devices, knowledge, or training.
From the start, Kiip has prioritized accessibility and thoughtful design. We understand that accessibility is an ever-evolving process, and we're committed to constantly improving. We continuously enhance our product to ensure that every user can experience the full benefits of our tools and services.
We invite you to take a look at our full list of accessible features and let us know how we can improve your experience. At Kiip, accessibility is not just a checkbox – it's a fundamental value that drives everything we do.
Compliance
-
At Kiip, we strive to be WCAG 2.1 AA level compliant as set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG is an open standard for determining how to make web content accessibility. Kiip is working to meet Level AA compliance as it is considered good support for websites geared towards a wide audience.
-
Kiip uses Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) specifications as set by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). ARIA helps to identify and structure different kinds of interactive website content so that it's easier for people with disabilities to use assistive devices and technology.
Compatibility
-
Kiip was built to support multiple languages using built-in browser translation features.
-
Kiip is web-based and built to work on any device. We continually test on a variety of devices, such as desktop, iOS and Android, from the latest and greatest to older models, to ensure Kiip is accessible to all users on any platform.
Optimizations
-
Every element is accessible via keyboard. We ensure no keyboard traps and every control element has focus styling so that users can navigate Kiip without requiring a mouse or other pointing device.
-
Our site provides descriptive text for images and other non-textual content, proper tags to structure content, appropriate contrast ratios to make text easy to read, and all form fields and buttons are properly labeled.
-
Kiip is built with thoughtfulness for all our users. Our font choice was selected for maximized readability – having those with dyslexia in mind. Colors were carefully chosen not only for low-vision users but for neurodiverse sensitivities. We implemented things like sensible content navigation, the ability to cancel/go back, and password show/hide for those with cognitive disabilities, i.e. memory issues.
